Visit Sugar Mill Pond for the premier of SoundTown, a concert performance you absolutely won’t want to miss!!!  The Acadian Symphony Orchestra will take the stage on Sunday May 6th with special guests Chubby Carrier & Roddie Romero.  Sugar Mill Pond Realty & D.R. Horton, America’s Builder, have teamed up with the Acadiana Symphony to put on this free event complete with great music, food and family fun all to benefit ASO Conservatory’s music and literacy program…A,B,C’s – Do, Re Me!  Great prizes will be given away to those who come by to register the day of the event.

Child abuse and neglect can be prevented , and with yor help, we can make a stand.  Please join Prevent Child Abuse Louisiana & Heats of Hope on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 10:00 am at Sugar Mill Pond as we kick off National Child Abuse Prevention Month.  Activities will include a fun jump, face painting, arts n crafts & musci.  We will also plant a community pinwheel garden.  The pinwheel is a national symbol for child abuse and neglect prevention because it is reflective of the bright future all children deserve.  Our garden will spin throughout the month of April to encourage us all to be the winds of change.  For more information on how you might help take a stand on child abuse & neglect prevention, please contact Trisha Landry at trisha.landry@ymail.com or Amanda Brunson at amanda@pcal.org.

Get those Mardi Gras costumes ready for  SMP’s First Annual “Pawdi Gras on the Pond”, Sunday, February 12, 2012 from 1-4pm (registration to begin at 1:00 pm).  The theme this year is “Laissez Les Bon Chiens Rouler!” Awards for King and Queen, most creative, best pet/owner look alike, best theme, and many more categories.  Live music with Major Handy, food and drink specials from Village Market & Romacelli, and a magician and balloon artist. Parade around the neighborhood in your liveliest Mardi Gras outfit with your kids and four legged family members!  $15/dog donation to benefit Angel Paws, a no-kill animal shelter.
